Thonet is one of the largest and oldest family-run furniture stores in the world. Founded in Germany in 1819, Thonet now provides countries all over the world with comfortable, beautiful chairs. The brand has been at the forefront of innovation and design for years, and continues to pave the way for other furniture manufacturers.

Brand Vision

Working closely with the client, we wanted to create something that conveyed the rich and illustrious company history in an interesting way. As such, we turned our attention to motion graphics to bring the Thonet corporate story to life. The vision was for something informative and engaging that would tell the story right from the beginning, starting with the birth of founder Michael Thonet and leading up to recent achievements.

We began realising the concept by creating a timeline, on which we logged all the major events we wanted to convey. Then, using motion graphics, we animated them to appear spiralling up from the bottom of the screen giving the reader plenty of time to take in the facts. We stuck to the company colour scheme of orange and grey to be in line with the existing branding, and using minimalist, interesting design we created a timeline that was fun to look at, and contained the entire company heritage.
